  • With August heat and storm season in full swing, take a few minutes to prepare your home for extreme weather. Check that gutters are clear, review your downspouts, and make sure your roof and exterior caulking aren’t showing signs of wear. If you rely on your AC, replace or clean filters and keep an eye on any unusual sounds—small maintenance now can help prevent bigger problems later.

• Auto Insight:

  • Long summer drives + high temperatures can take a toll on your vehicle. Before you hit the road, check your tire pressure (including the spare) and look for uneven wear. Properly inflated tires improve handling and help you avoid blowouts—especially on hot pavement. Also, top off essential fluids (including windshield washer fluid) and ensure your wipers are ready in case of sudden summer rain.
